Joint venture between LIMPID and Kyungpook National University's technology holding company completed, registered as a research institute company in the Daegu Research and Development Special Zone

Contract testing record with large corporates including SK Telecom and CJ CheilJedang, with talks underway on entry testing for overseas brands
LV Veterinary Clinical Center (CEO Sejin Han), a contract testing institution for companion animal studies jointly established by LIMPID, an AI company built for animal health, and the technology holding company of Kyungpook National University, has completed its joint venture setup and research institute company registration and formally begun operations.
LV Veterinary Clinical Center was created by pairing LIMPID's data-driven R&D capability with the veterinary expertise of Kyungpook National University. It specializes in safety and efficacy evaluation for pet food, including diets, treats, and supplements, as well as topical products such as shampoos. As the pet food market moves upmarket, demand from companies for evidence-based safety and palatability testing and for supplement efficacy studies has risen sharply, and the center was launched to serve that need with specialized B2B testing services.
Its new website (lvrc.kr) functions as a professional channel for corporate R&D and government project partners rather than a simple introduction. Nine evaluation categories, covering diet safety, efficacy, and palatability as well as topical product safety and efficacy, are laid out so that companies looking for ingredient safety testing or functional treat efficacy studies can find the right evaluation quickly. The site is bilingual in Korean and English to support overseas partners.
The center has already run contract testing on pet food and topical products for major Korean companies including SK Telecom, CJ CheilJedang, Lotte R&D Center, and Petsaeng. It is currently in discussions with a global consulting firm on local clinical testing for overseas pet food brands entering the Korean market.
Government R&D is another strength. In 2026 the center was selected as a co-research institution for government projects under the Korea Institute of Planning and Evaluation for Technology in Food, Agriculture and Forestry and the Korea Industrial Technology Association, bringing its cumulative government R&D record to KRW 6.66 billion. On that basis it plans to serve as a contract research organization and consortium partner for government R&D programs developing new ingredients and products.
The center's evaluation framework builds on a patent transferred from Kyungpook National University College of Veterinary Medicine covering methods for evaluating the safety and palatability of companion animal diets, and draws on more than 120 biomarkers. It operates its own Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee to maintain an ethical research environment and is a registered research institute company (No. 2173) under the Ministry of Science and ICT.

LV Veterinary Clinical Center is also participating as a co-research institution in the 2026 national R&D program on intractable diseases in companion animals, a KRW 5.1 billion project led by LIMPID, where it is responsible for supplying real clinical data and verifying treatment effects. Its scope now runs from corporate contract work to national R&D, strengthening its position as a specialized clinical testing institution for companion animals.
