Rhinobox (CEO Sangbeom Park), which operates the pet food health care platform app 'Saladpet', announced on the 12th the official release of a palatability testing service for dogs and cats.

Launched this month through the crowdfunding platform Wadiz, the 'Palatability Test Kit' analyzes feeding records for nine in-house diets included in the kit to identify an animal's palatability profile and provide a tailored nutrition management guide.

The guardian serves the test diets included in the kit and enters the feeding records in the Saladpet app. From this, users learn their animal's protein source preference, level of curiosity, appetite drive, nutrient preference and kibble-form preference, typically within about two days. Results are available in the Saladpet app once the analysis is complete. The service also provides a nutrition management guide and diet recommendations for each profile, helping guardians find a diet their animal prefers while keeping nutrition on track.

Saladpet is widely known as a feed nutrition analysis app, but the company is working toward a broader pet health care business combining medical, educational and care information.

Sangbeom Park, CEO of Rhinobox, said, "A palatability test lets you find a diet your animal enjoys and eats happily. Beyond palatability, nutrition and health, we intend to lead consumer pet health care through food."

'Saladpet' was selected this year for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' TIPS program and the fourth cohort of Google's Changgoo program in recognition of its business and technical capability. Founded by veterinarians, Saladpet is built on the 'nutrition-veterinary complex systems database (slp™ DB)' developed over several years, and analyzes companion animal health data collected on the platform to provide diet curation and nutrition care. Guardians can make decisions and manage nutritional balance, disease-specific recommendations, ingredient safety, food allergy analysis, recommended feeding amounts and nutrition checkups through the app without having to track each element separately. Since its official launch last year, Saladpet has delivered roughly 750,000 tailored feed nutrition analyses to users.
